[ENG] Andong Guksi: 43 Years of Honest Korean Noodles in Apgujeong

๐Ÿฅข 43 Years of Tradition

Founded in 1983, Andong Guksi has been serving comforting noodles in Apgujeong for over four decades. Since 1997, the current owner has carried on the legacy, keeping the same taste alive. The restaurant has even been featured on popular Korean shows like “Sung Si Kyung’s Eating Show” and “Backban Travel with Heo Young-man.”

๐Ÿœ The Honest Taste of a Bowl

What sets Andong Guksi apart is its gentle, non-overpowering flavor. The beef bone broth is mild yet deep, leaving a clean aftertaste that especially appeals to older generations. The noodles are soft and easy to slurp, making them approachable for all ages.

The menu is simple, focusing on three variations – Andong Guksi (KRW 14,000), Geonjin Guksi (KRW 16,000), and Whole Wheat Guksi (KRW 16,000) – proving that sticking to the basics can be a strength.

๐ŸŒฟ The Power of Simple Side Dishes

Every meal comes with three signature side dishes: kimchi, seasoned chives, and marinated perilla leaves. Among them, the perilla leaves are the star. Their light soy seasoning pairs perfectly with the mild broth, creating a balanced, elevated flavor. Many regulars ask for extra refills of perilla leaves—it’s practically the “secret ingredient” here.

❄️ Geonjin Guksi for Summer, Andong Guksi for Winter

In summer, Geonjin Guksi shines. The noodles are boiled separately, rinsed in cold water, then topped with chilled anchovy broth for a refreshing dish that rivals naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles).

In colder months, the warm Andong Guksi with beef bone broth is the ultimate comfort food, often enjoyed as a soothing hangover cure.

๐Ÿ– More Than Just Noodles

Though noodles are the highlight, the restaurant also serves traditional Korean side dishes like boiled pork slices, octopus, mung bean pancakes, and buckwheat jelly. The pork in particular is highly praised for its tenderness and rich flavor—perfect for pairing with soju in the evening.

Honest Review of Negi Dining Lounge in Garosugil, Sinsa

I recently visited Negi Dining Lounge for a dinner outing in Gangnam. It’s conveniently located near Sinsa Station, Exit 8 , making it easy to access. The restaurant is on the 4th floor of a building, and there’s an elevator available , so no worries about climbing stairs! For those driving, valet parking is available. We had a 6 PM bar seat reservation, which allowed us to watch the chefs prepare dishes up close. While this was interesting, the atmosphere at the bar was quite busy and lively. If you're looking for a quiet, intimate setting, I’d recommend choosing a table seat instead. ๐Ÿฝ️ Menu & Taste Review ⭐ 1. Truffle + Jamรณn + Ajitsuke Tamago (24,000 KRW) The first dish was already a big hit! A perfectly cooked soft-boiled egg (Ajitsuke Tamago) topped with Jamรณn and fresh truffle —as soon as I took a bite, the rich aroma of truffle filled my mouth. It was a fantastic appetizer, but I wished there was more because it was so delicious! A must-try menu item at Negi. ⭐ ...
